Lawrence Smith: Forces Shaping Your Future
Highly respected climate scientist Laurence C. Smith, visited Loomis Chaffee on Tuesday, September 24, for an all-school convocation. He took the opportunity to speak directly to the generation most involved in the social direction of the world ultimately affecting climate change. Read More.


Mercy Gallery Exhibits Untarnished 
The Sue and Eugene Mercy Jr. Gallery kicks off the 2013-14 year with Untarnished, an exhibit that features the work of six individual artists who revive classical Renaissance painting using the practices of egg tempera, silverpoint, and gilding. Read More.

From the Archives: Walter Wood's Loomis
The Loomis School opened in the fall of 1914, and Walter Wood ’18 was one of its first students. Photographs from his scrapbook and recollections shared by Wood more than a half century after his graduation create a portrait of Loomis in its early years. Read More.

Tucker Cheyne '13 had an impressive debut as the placekicker for the MIT football team on Saturday, so impressive that the New England Football Conference named him the Special Teams Player of the Week. Read more.


Nothing But Nets Benefit Soccer Game
On Saturday, October 19, the boys varsity soccer team will play home under the lights on Pratt Field against Suffield Academy at 7 p.m. in a benefit game for Nothing But Nets, a global, grassroots campaign dedicated to saving lives by preventing malaria. Read More.

Homecoming  Saturday, October 12

Come back to the Island to celebrate Homecoming 2013 on Saturday, October 12.  A BBQ lunch on the Quad will kick off a full slate of athletic contests – capped off by the football game under the lights vs. Deerfield.  Check out the alumni events page for game times. Go Pelicans!

Calling All Fac Brats!
Save the date. Loomis Chaffee is hosting all faculty children, or fac brats as they are more commonly known, for a reunion on the weekend of  June 21-22, 2014.
