Suzette Lee '97 Volunteers for Medical Missions in West Africa

In 2004 Suzette Lee '97 joined Médecins Sans Frontieres/Doctors Without Borders, first as an intern and then as a field associate, and discovered her true calling. “I finally found a field that reflected my core beliefs and passions,” she says. Read more.

Philanthropy Day — We Did It - 1000 Donors in One Day!

We did it! With 1,016 Annual Fund donations in one day, alumni, parents, faculty, and students joined together to make history – smashing a previous single-day donor record of 662. “I am overwhelmed by the outpouring of generosity from the Loomis Chaffee community,” remarks KeriAnne Travis, director of the Annual Fund. Melissa Donovan '81 Shares the Story and Craft of Zemene

Filmmaker Melissa Donovan ’81 attended an on-campus screening of her award-winning documentary Zemene on Monday and visited classes on Tuesday to talk with students about her work and the making of the film, which follows a young Ethiopian girl as she seeks treatment for a life-threatening curvature of her spine. Justin Murphy-Mancini '08 Returns to Campus for Organ Recital

Loomis Chaffee welcomed Justin Murphy-Mancini ‘08 back to the Island on Monday, February 16, to perform a recital in the Centennial Alumni Musician Concert Series. Justin performed Sandresky's "Sacred Dance," variations on Barber's "Wondrous Love," and Fantasia & Fugue in G minor, by J. S. Bach on the organ in Founders Chapel. Read more.

Alumnae STEM Panel Discussion

Panelists Christina (Stenman) Liebel ’99, Molly Flanagan ’01, and Colleen Murphy ’06 discussed their careers and studies in STEM — science, technology, engineering, and math — fields on Sunday, February 22, in an on-campus forum that drew interested students and faculty. Read more.

Centennial Year Alumni Events
The Loomis Chaffee Centennial reception tour continues!  Next month, Head of School receptions will be held in San Francisco on March 9, Los Angeles on March 11, and London, England on March 19.  If you live, work or are visiting these areas, please join Loomis Chaffee alumni, parents and friends for an evening of Pelican camaraderie and conversation.
 
On March 4, join Alumni of Color for the second annual Loomis in Harlem event at the Red Rooster. All are welcome.

Solon Gordon '03 Concert and Jennifer Chang to Perform — Thursday, February 26
Pianist Solon Gordon '03 returns to the Island with violist Jennifer Chang on Thursday, February 26, to perform a recital as part of the Loomis Chaffee Centennial Alumni Musician Concert Series. The performance will take place at 10:55 a.m. in the Hubbard Performance Hall.

Centennial Book Event Hosted by John Ratté and Karen Parsons — Sunday, March 8
The school invites Windsor Historical Society members, the local community, and Loomis alumni to a free program of stories from its centennial history on Sunday, March 8 at 2 p.m. in Gilchrist Auditorium in the Clark Science Center on the Loomis Chaffee School campus. Read more
