REMINDER RA and Prefect Information Sessions: Thursday, March 23
If you are interested in or even considering applying to be a Prefect or RA for the upcoming school year, you must attend Thursday's information session. During the session you will hear from a panel of current dorm leaders, learn more about the application process, and be able to ask any additional questions you may have about the position or process.

Times:
7:15 p.m. Prefect Information Session
7:45 p.m. RA Information Session

Both sessions will be held in Gilchrist Auditorium.
 
 

UPDATE Sign up for Spring Community Service!

If you would like to get more involved in the Loomis and surrounding communities and are not on an interscholastic sport team, consider volunteering in one or more of our many service programs. There are several new programs this term! On Wednesday, March 22, Mrs. Henderson will be available in the Chaffee student lounge at 12:30 p.m. for information and help signing up. Stop by and learn about the different community service programs available! Contact Mrs. Heather Henderson at heather_henderson@loomis.org or stop by Chaffee 117 if you have any questions or need more information.

REMINDER Framed-In Theatre Festival
Students, it's time for you to get on the stage or to participate in the NEO Theatre Festival: Framed-In!
If you've ever wanted to write a short play or be on stage, this festival is for you!

Important Dates:
Mandatory information and sign up meeting is this Thursday, March 23, or Friday, March 24, during the free in the NEO Theatre.
You only need to come to one of these meetings.

If you cannot make it to either meeting and still wish to participate, please email Mr. McCamish before 12 p.m. Friday, March 24.
Come to the meeting for info packet, Q&A, and to sign up.
No experience necessary.

Directors/Writers/Actors: Script, Title, along with a list of characters and the names of the actors participating must be submitted in writing by the end of the day on Wednesday, April 19, to Mr. McCamish.

On May 2 and May 3, we will have a technical/final dress rehearsal in the NEO beginning at 6 p.m.

PERFORMANCES:
Thursday, May 4, and Friday, May 5 at 7 p.m. in the NEO.
 
 

REMINDER Yale Discovery to Cure Internship – Deadline: Friday, March 24

Applications now open for any juniors who are interested in the Yale Discovery to Cure Summer Internship Program. Only 5 applications will be permitted from Loomis Chaffee and must be submitted by the Office of Experiential Learning. Application and teacher recommendation form can be found on the internship website. All materials must be submitted to Mr. Kuo by Friday, March 24 at 3:30 p.m. For more information, please contact Mr. Kuo.

 
 
REMINDER Freshmen: Student Phonathon Callers Needed!
The Alumni Development Office is seeking enthusiastic and responsible freshmen to make phone calls to alumni on behalf of the Annual Fund. You will be trained before calling and have scripts to guide you through each call. This is a paid position and dinner will be provided each calling night. Applications are due by Friday, March 24, at 4 p.m. to Ms. Beres (sarah_beres@loomis.org) and there will be a mandatory training session for those selected on Monday, March 27 at 9:45 a.m. If you have any questions please contact Ms. Beres.

Free Speech Dialogue: Monday, March 27
Does free speech unite or divide our community? Where is the line between free speech and hate speech? How should we respond to offensive speech? In the end, does free speech matter? Why?

NEW College Office Miniseries: Tuesday, March 28
Interested in the University of California?On Tuesday, March 28, any students interested in learning more about the University of California campuses, including the application process, are welcome to attend a miniseries on the topic to be held in Brush 203, from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. This is particularly targeted towards juniors interested in learning more about the UC's but is open to any student. Hope to see you there!
College Office Miniseries: Pet a Pup – On Tuesday, March 28, the College Office will repeat its popular fall miniseries, puppies and munchkins, for any students needing a break from college-process related stress. Come by the front of Chaffee from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., weather permitting, and enjoy some downtime with our furry friends!
 
 
The Role of Athletic Recruiting in the College Admissions Process: Friday, March 31
The College Office and Athletic Office will co-sponsor a panel on the role of athletic recruiting in the college process on Friday, March 31 in Hubbard Performance Hall from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30pm. College coaches and admission officers will be here to answer questions and share information that will be useful to student-athletes navigating this process. The event is open to parents and students.
 
 

Norton Fellowships

Calling all sophomores and juniors who are interested in the Norton Fellowship! Mr. LaForest and Mrs. Pond are eager to hear your ideas! Please check out the application materials and then stop by the Norton Center to ask questions about the program or to share your thoughts with us. Deadline: Saturday, April 1.

 
 

Elizabeth Chang (P '17) in Recital

Please join the Music Department welcome back Elizabeth Chang (P '17) in recital on Monday, March 27, at 9:55 a.m. in Hubbard Performance Hall. Ms. Chang has established a multifaceted career as a performer, teacher, and arts administrator. Pianist Alissa Leisure, recognized as both a soloist and collaborative artist of technical skill and interpretive command, will join Ms. Chang. The two will be performing Violin Sonata's by Beethoven and Ravel. This is a recital not to be missed! (Concert credit given for attending.)

Seniors & Postgraduates
Please see the pass/fail option guidelines, and if interested be in touch with Mr. Lawrence with any questions. Seniors/PGs are allowed to take a course pass/fall under certain conditions, and may do so as late as four weeks into the spring term (by April 14).
 
 

UPDATE Performance at River Street School

The Instrumental Music Club​ is planning to give a concert at the River Street School, a local school for kids diagnosed with autism. This will be a great volunteer opportunity.

Dates to consider: April 12 and April 19 (both are Wednesdays).
Time: 2:30-3:30 p.m.
Loomis will provide transportation to and from RSS.

If you are interested in giving a performance (solo or ensemble), choose a date you would prefer (April 12 or 19) and email Ms. Bovell, Rosie Park or Andrew Donshik.
