REMINDER College Office Miniseries: Tuesday, March 28
Interested in the University of California? – On Tuesday, March 28, any students interested in learning more about the University of California campuses, including the application process, are welcome to attend a miniseries on the topic to be held in Brush 203, from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. This is particularly targeted towards juniors interested in learning more about the UC's but is open to any student. Hope to see you there!
College Office Miniseries: Pet a Pup – On Tuesday, March 28, the College Office will repeat its popular fall miniseries, puppies and munchkins, for any students needing a break from college-process related stress. Come by the front of Chaffee from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., weather permitting, and enjoy some downtime with our furry friends!

On Wednesday, March 29, faculty, staff, and students are asked NOT to park in Founders Circle or the roadway leading to it. Please park in the hopyard to accommodate revisiting families.

Faculty, staff, and students are asked NOT to park in the gravel lot near Clark or the Chaffee/Hubbard lot. Please use the hockey rink or the hopyard parking.

The Role of Athletic Recruiting in the College Admissions Process: Friday, March 31
The College Office and Athletic Office will co-sponsor a panel on the role of athletic recruiting in the college process on Friday, March 31 in Hubbard Performance Hall from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30pm. College coaches and admission officers will be here to answer questions and share information that will be useful to student-athletes navigating this process. The event is open to parents and students.

Student Council Annual Blood Drive: Monday, April 10
Do you want to make a difference in other people's lives? Do you want to become a lifesaver? It's time for you to participate in the Loomis Chaffee Annual Red Cross Blood Drive organized by the Student Council. On Monday, April 10, 2017, Red Cross Staff will be in Olcott running the blood drive from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. To sign-up, look out for the Blood Drive booth right outside the dining hall during lunch periods starting this Friday, March 24. "Understanding China's Role in the Developing World"

An author and professor of sociology, urban planning, and policy, Xiangming Chen is an expert on the comparative and transnational facets of global-urban relations in the local and regional contexts of China and Asia.
A native of Bejing and a graduate of Beijing Foreign Studies University, Mr. Chen holds a doctorate in sociology from Duke University. Mr. Chen is a guest professor at Fudan University in Shanghai, China, and an honorary research fellow at the Institute of Economics of Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences; at the Beijing Academy of Social Sciences; and at the IC2 Institute at the University of Texas at Austin. He previously taught at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where he also directed the International Studies, Asian Studies, and Sociology Departments' graduate programs. He served on the editorial board of City & Community and is on the international advisory board of Journal of Borderlands Studies. A recipient of numerous fellowships and grants in his fields of study, Mr. Chen has authored several books and more than 80 journal articles related to urban planning and policy.
UPDATE Performance at River Street School
The Instrumental Music Club is planning to give a concert at the River Street School, a local school for kids diagnosed with autism. This will be a great volunteer opportunity.
Dates to consider: April 12 and April 19 (both are Wednesdays).
Time: 2:30-3:30 p.m.
Loomis will provide transportation to and from RSS.
