REMINDER Advisor/Advisee Meetings on Monday, November 13 - Required

Please note that on Monday, November 13, the Community Free is a required Advisor/ Advisee meeting time. Please be in touch with your advisor to ensure you know where you will be meeting. Attendance will be taken. The purpose of these meetings is to follow up on recent events, including the swastika symbol in Chaffee, focusing on the values of community, respect, and citizenship.

NEW Review Days Dress Code

Dress code is in effect for review days (Monday and Tuesday). Relaxed dress code for exams, with details on that to follow in the Tuesday Daily Bulletin. Take care this week and good luck..

REMINDER No Regular Work Jobs This Week 

There will be no regular work jobs for students this week due to review and exams. However, any student needing a make-up will be notified by email of their expected duties. These students will be covering Dining Hall Duties and Trash Truck.

REMINDER Tryouts for Varsity Boys Squash 

Boys Varsity Squash Try-outs start Monday, 11/13, 4-5:30pm. (JV Boys Squash Tryouts will take place after Thanksgiving Break.)

Wednesday: 1:30-3:30
Thursday: 1:30-2:30
Friday: 1-3 (Optional)

REMINDER Athletics Independent Study Deadline: Wednesday, November 15
All students wishing to pursue an independent study for athletic credit during the winter term should submit a written proposal with a detailed outline to Ms. Cabot, Athletic Director, no later than Wednesday, November 15. As a candidate for an ISP, you must arrange for a project advisor (who will maintain contact with an off-campus coach, if applicable). The independent study must be equivalent in time, effort, and accomplishment to work in a club or interscholastic sport.

REMINDER Course Change Deadline — Friday, November 17

The deadline for course changes for the winter term is Friday, November 17 at 5:00pm. After that date, only level changes will be allowed. Any questions, please see Mr. DeConinck or Mr. Lawrence in the Academic Office.

REMINDER QRC Hours

As we get closer to the end of the fall term, we'd like to remind you that the QRC is open in the library from 8-9:30 p.m. on study hall evenings, and the QRC in Clark is staffed most blocks. Our schedule for the daytime QRC is which is also posted on the cork-board in the QRC. No appointments needed.

REMINDER Science Resource Center

As we get closer to review and finals week, we wanted to remind you that the Science Resource Center is open 8-9:30 Mondays and Thursdays for Chemistry and Physics help. Biology questions are welcome as well. Come by if you need any help!

Boys' Varsity Hockey Desires Three Good People to fill out its Support Staff

Boys' Varsity Hockey is seeking three staff members covering different areas of responsibility. Those three different positions include the following:

1. Media/Communications Manager: Responsibilities include managing the team's twitter account, organizing and prepping the team's bulletin board, conducting post-game interviews, and managing the rink snack bar during home games.

2. Video Coordinator: Responsibilities include filming all games, uploading and managing film on the team's video database Krossover.

3. Bench Assistant: Responsibilities for this position will cover the day to day team needs, such as water, food, practice needs, travel needs, score and time keeping.

Pelican Presents for Windsor

It is that time of year again to join Community Service in making the holidays better those in our community who are in need. Holiday Help has been renamed Pelican Presents since it is expanding to include Project Santa this year! The entire Loomis community is unfailingly generous every holiday season, we helped 25 individuals last year! Every team, department, and dorm can sponsor an individual from the Windsor Senior Center or a family through Project Santa!! Please see the attached flier for details. Spend the Winter with Community Service!!

With the holiday season upon us, winter term is a great time to volunteer in Community Service! There are so many different ways to give back to our community, there is something for everyone!! If you like working with children, seniors, creating needed items, making music or videos you can find these opportunities in the many after school opportunities! Come check it out for yourself! Boys Varsity Basketball Managers Needed

If you are interested in managing the Boys Varsity basketball team please e-mail Coach Battistoni. It is a great experience where you will travel to NYC and Boston a few times.

Gaia Art!

Milton Academy wants writers and artists from multiple schools to submit their work for inclusion in their monthly Gaia Issues. Gaia is a website, created by Milton Students, that displays and raises awareness about environmental issues across the world. We want Loomis students to submit their visual art or written work that relates to the environment! For submission email Kalina_Szemraj@loomis.org.

Girls Diving as a Winter Sport!

Girls, looking for a winter sport? The Girls Swimming and Diving team is looking for any girls who would like to participate in diving for the winter. No experience necessary although a gymnastic/tumbling background is certainly helpful. If interested or have any questions, please contact Mr. DeConinck or Mrs. Scanlon in the Athletic Office to sign up!

Thanksgiving Transportation Form
Thanksgiving Break is Friday, November 17 through Monday, November 27, 2017.
Fill out the attached form ASAP to reserve transportation for Thanksgiving break. 


The cost for Loomis transportation is between $35 and $50 (billed to your LC Student Account.). The bus leaves from the back of the Athletics Complex (across from the track). The shuttle to the Bradley International Airport is $5.00 charged to your LC Account.

Departures from Loomis:
Bradley International Airport — Departure times from campus: 1 p.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m.
JFK Airport — Departure Times: 2 p.m. drop off at respective terminals. Scheduled arrival at approximately 5:30 p.m. (traffic dependent). Recommended that flights are not booked before 7:00 p.m.

Stamford/ Penn Station — Departure from campus: 1:30 p.m. Arrive at Stamford Amtrak Station: 3:30 p.m. (traffic dependent) Drop-off at New York's Penn Station: 31st street between 7th and 8th Avenues, scheduled arrival between 4:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. (traffic dependent)

Return Trips back to Loomis:

*Loomis does not offer pick-up at Bradley International Airport. Students should plan to take a taxi from the airport to campus.
JFK Airport — Pick up at 2 p.m. preferably from Terminal 1 or students respective terminal
Penn Station — Pick up at 3 p.m. (31st street between 7th and 8th Avenues)
Stamford — Pick up at 4:30 p.m. at Amtrak station (traffic dependent)

Project Green Clothing Drive
If you have clothes that you don't wear anymore, look for our clothing drive bins around campus. You can find one in your dorm or in the gym. We take most clothing EXCLUDING underwear, socks, and things in tattered or unusable condition. All donations will be used by Project Green or donated to local places of need. After School Graphic Design Program

Students: learn Photoshop, Illustrator, and other creative design apps this winter term. Sign up for the after school Graphic Design club sport/athletic exemption. No prior experience necessary!
