Little Free Library Open for Business!

This holiday season did you receive a book that you didn't really like? Or a book you had already read? Or are you looking to make room on your shelves for a favorite new book? You're in luck! We are collecting books for all ages to fill Loomis's own Little Free Library. Construction is finally complete on this Loomis-red architectural wonder located on the loop between Brush Library and Carter Hall. If you don't have a book to donate, please feel free to take one and return it later. Please contact Eric LaForest or Heather Henderson for more information.

Health Tips from the Health Center

We have entered into cold and flu season, here are a few pointers to help keep our community as healthy as possible:

  • Hand washing!  Wash your hands with soap and warm water frequently.  If you are unable to wash, hand sanitizer is an acceptable replacement until you can get to a sink.
  • Cough and sneeze into a tissue or your elbow.
  • Do not share food or drinks.
  • Stay as hydrated and rested as possible and be sure to eat throughout the day.  Missing meals or getting too little sleep can make a headache or nausea feel worse.  Our bodies are more prone to illness when we are 'worn down'.
  • Come to the Health Center when you feel sick.  The main symptoms of the flu are fever, bodyaches and headache.  The sooner treatment is started, the better.  Other illnesses that are common this time of year include the stomach bug, common cold, and strep throat. The Health Center can help to determine the need for testing and/or treatment.

Stay healthy LC!
