Senior Bailey Coyne capped off her Loomis Chaffee athletics career with selection to the Western New England Prep School Softball Association All-League team.

Coyne was a unanimous choice, voted by the coaches in the league. Two weeks earlier, Coyne was one of three seniors to receive the Barbara Erickson Award, the school’s highest athletics award chosen by the Loomis coaches.

At her shortstop position Coyne covered a wide area with her defensive skills. At the plate this season she had a .655 batting average, and her on-base average was an incredible .688. Over the past two seasons Bailey has contributed to the program in many ways, including six home runs, 29 RBIs, 41 runs scored, and more than 30 bases stolen. She was a co-captain of this year’s team.

A terrific athlete and leader among her peers, she will attend Northeastern University next year, where she will play hockey on that Division 1 program along with classmate Paige Capistran.
