As finishing touches are applied to the interior of the newly completed Cutler Hall and trees are planted in the entranceway, the dorm faculty families are settling into their new home and are excited to begin the very first school year in the dorm.

“Everyone is really looking forward to welcoming the girls and being the first families to live in the beautiful new residence hall,” says Mimi Donegan, dorm head and faculty member of the History, Philosophy, Religious Studies & Social Science Department.

“It’s going to be a lively place!” says Dean Mike Donegan who, along with Mimi and their family, will reside in Cutler. Also making the new dorm their home for the 2016-17 school year are 50 girls, including freshmen, sophomores, and junior prefects, as well as seven adult faculty members and their children that range in age from infants to teens.

A couple of the Donegan’s Labrador retrievers will also join the extended Cutler family this year.

In the opening few weeks of school, Mike says Cutler residents will plan cookouts and other outside activities with Richmond and Kravis in the quad-like green space formed by the dorms’ collective back yards. Other plans include dorm olympics, dance parties, and an open house to welcome others in the campus community to see Cutler Hall.
