Community Work Program

The Community Work Program engages all Loomis Chaffee students and faculty in the operation and maintenance of the school through a variety of job assignments covering nearly all aspects of school life. The program, which operates as part of the Norton Center for the Common Good, promotes a positive work ethic while teaching reliability, accountability, and pride in work well done. In serving others and the school community, each student has an opportunity to contribute to our common good. Work assignments range from routine cleaning of classrooms or the dining hall, to working in the school bookstore or library, to serving as a tour guide or a dormitory prefect.

The mission of the Loomis Chaffee Community Work Program is to engage students in productive and meaningful work that teaches responsibility, develops leadership, and sustains community.
