3–4:30 p.m. | Evelyn Longman: Art and Stories with Karen Parsons, Loomis Chaffee Archivist Lawn at Longman Hall Stop by the Lawn at Longman Hall to learn more about nationally acclaimed sculptor Evelyn Longman’s career as an artist and her life in Chicago, New York, and on the Island. We’ll provide materials to help you locate her many works on campus, enjoy some school history trivia, and engage in close looking and other interactive activities with Longman’s art. Discover the beauty and breadth of Longman’s sculptures along with the intertwining stories of her art making and the school’s history. Fun for art appreciators of all ages! Archivist Karen Parsons will offer a short presentation on the intriguing story of Victory of Mercy, Longman’s World War I and II memorial. |
