Student Council Projects 2011-12
President Lindsay Gabow and Secretary/Treasurer Shay Hearn visited the Lawrenceville School to observe their house system, which achieves great success with school unity (day students, boarders, underclassmen, upperclassmen etc.). The Student Council is excited to continue to work on a similar system for Loomis.
The Student Council is proud to announce that the Loomis Chaffee Wayfarer fundraiser raised more than $1,400, all of which was donated to The Nest, an orphanage in Kenya, and the Pelican Service Organization's canned food drive.
The Dress Code Committee is comprised of six students and seven teachers chosen by the Student Council. The Dress Code Committee has meetings during the course of the school year to discuss the Loomis Chaffee dress code. A finalized dress code proposal that is clear, orderly, and reflective of Loomis values was completed Winter Term.
The Loomis Chaffee Honor Pledge initiative has been presented and endorsed by the faculty! Serving to raise the level of respect of Loomis Chaffee, improve morale, and strengthen the the community, the Honor Pledge is stated below (but subject to change). An Honor Pledge Committee has been created to implement and plan ways to introduce the Honor Pledge into the community.
As a Loomis Chaffee student, I pledge to:
(L)ive with integrity and honor
(C)hampion a community built upon respect for others and myself.
