Head boys lacrosse coach Bill Lee last weeked presented to coaches, parents, and youth players in Dallas, Texas, and to kick off the Lonestar Lacrosse Shootout.

Having amassed a 9-0 record in the regular season, Tucker Cheyne '13 and the MIT Engineers football team played in the squad's first post-season game in school history on Saturday in Bangor, Maine, against Husson University in the first round of the NCAA Division III Tournament. Sophomore Cheyne is the team's kicker and helped to propel the team to overtime play, setting up MIT's 27-20 win to advance in the tournament.

The field hockey, girls volleyball, and girls soccer teams played in the semifinals of the New England Prep School Athletic Council Class A Tournament on Saturday, with the field hockey team beating Tabor to advance to the tournament finals and the volleyball and soccer teams losing to Exeter and Nobles, respectively, to end their tournament runs. Field hockey fell to Hotchkiss in the championship game on Sunday.

With another upset win on Saturday against No. 4 ranked Tabor Academy, the field hockey team (No. 8) moves on to play No. 2 seeded Hotchkiss on Sunday at 2 p.m. at Middlesex School in Concord, Mass.

Three Loomis Chaffee fall teams — girls soccer, volleyball, and field hockey — advanced to the semifinals of their New England Class A Tournaments with wins on Wednesday.

The varsity field hockey team traveled to Andover, Mass., on Wednesday to face No. 1 seeded Andover in the quarterfinals of the New England Tournament. Loomis, seeded No. 8, came out strong from the starting whistle and shut out the Big Blue, taking down the top-ranked team with a 3-0 victory and earning the chance to play on Saturday in the semifinals against No. 4 Tabor Academy.

It was a successful weekend for Loomis Chaffee's fall teams. Four varsity teams earned New England tournament berths, and the girls and boys cross country teams raced to second and third places, respectively, at the Division I New England Championships on Sunday.

The girls varsity cross country team successfully defended its Founders League title on Saturday, storming through the hilly middle section of the Westminster School course to place all seven Pelican runners among the top 17 finishers. The Loomis JV squad also won, capturing the JV Founders championship by one point.
