The Pelican Service Organization
The mission of the Pelican Service Organization (PSO) is to enrich
the lives of Loomis Chaffee students by reaching out to communities and
causes near and far.
In order to insure everyone in the community an
opportunity to participate, the Pelican Service Organization (PSO)
operates in several venues: Pelican service clubs, Pelican service
trips, and after school programs. The governing PSO, however, involves a term's commitment to one
or two afternoons a week — working with a local after-school program,
visiting nursing homes, or tutoring elementary school children in
Hartford.
There are many ways and places to pursue an interest in community service here on the Island. The
sprit of volunteerism is an integral part of our lives at the Loomis
Chaffee School and something which we are all very proud. We clearly
see the value and rewards for students and others in directly
participating in improving life in our larger community and around the
globe.
