How to Apply

Step 1 Submit Online Inquiry

Completing an online inquiry will provide you with a username and password for Explore Loomis, your personalized admission portal, from which you can access the Loomis Chaffee online application and check the status of your application.

There are two options that students can choose from to apply for admission to Loomis Chaffee. Our preference is that you use Loomis Chaffee’s online application. However, we recognize that for families applying to more than three schools, using the Standard Application Online through the SSAT may make more sense given your ability to submit one application to multiple schools. Whichever option you choose, we ask that you only begin and submit one application. Beginning and completing multiple applications creates duplicate records in our database and limits our ability to communicate with you in a timely manner.

Option 1

To access the Loomis Chaffee Online Application, log in to your Explore Loomis portal and select Online Application. NOTE: In order to complete the online application, you must pay your application fee via credit card at the time of submission. The only exception is if you have been granted a fee waiver. Please contact the Office of Admission for further instructions if you are requesting a fee waiver.

 The SSAT Standard Application Online and instructions for completing that application are available at http://www.admission.org/sao

IMPORTANT: Before submitting the SSAT application, please be sure to make an online inquiry (Step 1 above) so you can receive a username and password for your Explore Loomis admission portal. You will be able to track your application status from that portal.

Loomis Chaffee requires the School Report, current English teacher, and current Mathematics teacher recommendations. If you are using the Loomis Chaffee Online Application, these forms can be submitted online (instructions are available once you start your application). Each of these documents is also available for download in PDF form below.
