Senior Ally Hammel has been selected as a 2014 high school field hockey All-American. The National Field Hockey Coaches Association of America in conjunction with Harrow Sports published its list of the top high school players in the country on Wednesday.

The field hockey, girls volleyball, and girls soccer teams played in the semifinals of the New England Prep School Athletic Council Class A Tournament on Saturday, with the field hockey team advancing to the tournament finals and the volleyball and soccer teams losing to Exeter and Nobles, respectively, to end their tournament runs. Field hockey fell to Hotchkiss in the championship game on Sunday.

With another upset win on Saturday against No. 4 ranked Tabor Academy, the field hockey team (No. 8) moves on to play No. 2 seeded Hotchkiss on Sunday at 2 p.m. at Middlesex School in Concord, Mass.

Three Loomis Chaffee fall teams — girls soccer, volleyball, and field hockey — advanced to the semifinals of their New England Class A Tournaments with wins on Wednesday.

The varsity field hockey team traveled to Andover, Mass., on Wednesday to face No. 1 seeded Andover in the quarterfinals of the New England Tournament. Loomis, seeded No. 8, came out strong from the starting whistle and shut out the Big Blue, taking down the top-ranked team with a 3-0 victory and earning the chance to play on Saturday in the semifinals against No. 4 Tabor Academy.

It was a successful weekend for Loomis Chaffee's fall teams. Four varsity teams earned New England tournament berths, and the girls and boys cross country teams raced to second and third places, respectively, at the Division I New England Championships on Sunday.

The varsity field hockey team hosted a Field Hockey Friendzie on Pratt Field on Sunday, October 26. Members of the varsity and JV field hockey teams along with other LC students, parents, faculty, and fans came out to play field hockey and raise money and awareness for cancer research.

The field hockey team downed both Choate and Deerfield last week to push ahead in New England Prep Field Hockey.

Facing a talented, undefeated Westminster team in Simsbury for an important Founders League matchup on Saturday, the Loomis varsity field hockey team worked diligently despite torrential rain to upset the host team 3-1 and earn the right to ring the Victory Bell.

More than 60 young field hockey players in grades three through eight attended a clinic hosted by the Loomis girls field hockey team on campus Monday.

Loomis hosted a talented team from Taft on an unseasonably warm Saturday afternoon on Pratt Field. Despite the heat, the home team tallied a nail-biting 3-2 defeat of the Rhinos.

Sports Information Director and Head Field Hockey Coach Bobbi Moran presented at the Harrow Sports/National Field Hockey Coaches Association's (NFHCA) Preseason Workshop at RPI on Saturday, August 9. Field hockey Olympians Andrea Wieland and Jill Reeve, head coach of Brown University, also presented.

Loomis Chaffee's Pratt Field played host to the Western New England All-Star Game on Sunday, November 10. LC senior captain Hannah Oganeku and junior captain Sierra Semmel were selected to participate in the event.
