Colin Tabb enters his second season as Head Boys Basketball Coach at Loomis Chaffee. Tabb comes to Loomis after having coached at the collegiate level at Brandeis University (2005-2008) and Rhode Island College (2003-2004). In addition, Tabb has owned and operated BasketBull, LLC since 2004, the official event partner of the Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Mass. BasketBull operates over 25 events per year, including many tournaments, camps, showcases and more. Some of BasketBull's prestigious events include the Hall of Fame National Invitational and BasketBull Summer Championships which have included NBA players Andre Drummond, Noah Vonleh, and Shabazz Napier among others.

Tabb, a 2002 graduate of Trinity College (Conn.), played professionally overseas in Europe with clubs Dart Killester (Irish Superleague) and Brandt-Hagen (German Bundesliga). In 2002, Tabb was named 1st team Division III All-American by NABC as well as earning NESCAC and New England Play of the Year honors, while Trinity basketball lost in the second round of the NCAA tournament. Tabb started his playing career at Quinnipiac University (1997-1999) and is a graduate of Somers High School in Connecticut where he earned All-State honors in 1995, 1996, and 1997.

The Loomis boys basketball team played a nail-biter in the championship round of the Bob Southall Holiday Classic on Friday night in Olcott Gymnasium. The Pelicans fell to Kimball Union in the waning moments of the game 48-52 securing second place in the tournament.

After playing to a 61-57 win over Deerfield in the first home game of the season on Wednesday, the Loomis boys varsity basketball team was back in action with a big Founders League game at Avon Old Farms on Saturday, and the Pelicans notched their second "W" 83-70.

Senior Austin James made a game-winning reverse lay-up with 2.8 seconds remaining to lead Loomis Chaffee past Westminster 61-59 on Wednesday in Olcott Gymnasium.
