Summer Sports Camps

Loomis Chaffee serves as a host site for a series of summer sports camps. Participants will have the opportunity to enhance their skills and increase their knowledge of a given sport through practices and workouts tailored to their abilities, and through competitive games designed to exhibit new skill sets.

Summer Camps 2013
Confluence Football Clinic – June 20 – June 22. The second annual Confluence Football Clinic will be held on Loomis Chaffee’s Pratt Field (turf). The clinic will run from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on June 20th and June 21st and from 10:00 a.m. to 1 p.m. on June 22nd. The head football coach at Loomis Chaffee, Chuck Reid, along with numerous college coaches will host a skills and recruiting clinic for the student/athletes passionate about playing football. Schools committed to attend at least one day of the camp include Boston College, UConn, UMass, Temple, Dartmouth, Sacred Heart, and the University of New Haven (additional schools will be confirmed shortly). The cost of the clinic is $150 for three days, or $65 per day. Please note that not all schools will be in attendance each day. Visit Confluence Football for more information. Nike Basketball Camp June 23 – June 27. Nike Boys Basketball Camp returns for its tenth summer. The camp director is Rob H. Southall, a former all-league guard at Loomis Chaffee and current assistant coach at WPI in Worcester, MA. The camp is open to boys, ages 10-15, and offers complete skill instruction for either overnight, or extended day campers. Prices: Overnight – $605, Extended Day (9 a.m. – 9 p.m.) – $505. Nike Track and Field Camp June 23 – June 27. Director Scott Purdy is the head boys’ track and field coach at Loomis Chaffee. Nike track & field campers reside in the school dormitories and practice on the eight-lane campus track, with four jumping pits. The camp is open to all high school students ages 14–18. The camp also provides a middle school camp (9 a.m. – 5 p.m.), for younger athletes, ages 10 – 13, that provides an introduction to all track and field events. Some middle school campers have also lived in the dorms. Coaches instruct campers of all ability levels on the fundamentals of jumping, throwing, and running. Total Lacrosse Camp June 25 – June 28, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. **Dates Updated 4/5/13** Total Lacrosse Camp is designed for girls ages 9-16 and will help players improve their fundamental skill, while increasing their understanding of the game concepts and team play. The camp aims to challenge each player, no matter her skill level. Veteran Loomis Chaffee head girls’ lacrosse coach Lisa Parsons directs the camp. The cost is $310 dollars. Rip-It Lacrosse Camp June 25 – June 28. **Dates Updated 3/25/13** Full Day (8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.) and Half Day (8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.) options available. Rip-It Lacrosse Camp is designed for boys ages 8-16 and will help players improve their fundamental skills, while increasing their understanding of game concepts and team play. International Field Hockey Camp June 27 - June 29. Loomis Chaffee head field hockey coach Bobbi Moran will direct this day and overnight camp. Training sessions will be played on Pratt Field (turf) and will include sessions on nutrition, sports psychology, speed and conditioning, yoga and college recruiting process. The camp will be coached by top Division I and III coaches and players as well as offering night games under the lights on Pratt Field. All-New format for this year includes more scrimmages, meals and the opportunity to learn from the best the sport has to offer. Bring your game to the next level. CollEdge Recruiting Girls’ Volleyball Camp July 8 - July 10. The collEdge Recruiting Volleyball camp is a one of a kind camp which revolves around team competition and learning about the college recruiting process. This dynamic camp is open to high school girls in the classes of 2014, 2015, and 2016. The camp will have coaches from top division III institutions present. Prices: Overnight – $545, day – $445. Cannons Lacrosse Academy powered by Trilogy Lacrosse July 8 – July 12. The Boston Cannons of Major League Lacrosse (MLL) will be holding a boarding lacrosse camp at The Loomis Chaffee School. The camp will teach lacrosse skills to boys ages 9-17. Prices: Overnight – $699, extended day – $TBA. Nutmeg Volleyball Camps Overnight Camps: July 14-17 and July 18-21. Director Jeff Dyreson, head volleyball coach at Loomis Chaffee, offers two types of camps. The General Skills program is open to players of all ability levels, ages 10–18. Players are introduced to the fundamental skills of volleyball, strategy and team play, and gain valuable game experience. The High Skills program is recommended for junior varsity, varsity, and club players, ages 14–18. Here players will focus on fine-tuning fundamentals, offensive and defensive strategy, and game play. Basketball Factory Camp July 29 - August 1. The Basketball Factory hosts a boys' and girls' basketball camp on the campus of Loomis Chaffee this summer. The camps are open to girls in grades 4-12 and boys in grades 4-8. The camp offers overnight, extended day (9am-8pm with hot lunch and dinner in school dining hall) and day (9am-5pm, hot lunch) options. The price for the camp is $495 for overnight, $375 for an extended day camper and $250 for a regular day camper. Summer Elite Boot Camp July 29 - August 28. Coach Adrian Stewart's Summer Elite Boot Camp gets athletes ready for their upcoming seasons. Futsal CT Combo (Futsal & Soccer) Camp at The Loomis Chaffee School The camp is hosted at the Loomis Chaffee School from August 5th-9th. Participants aged 8-15 will hone their soccer skills through technical training, 1 v 1 play, and small sided games by playing Futsal and Soccer. Learn to play an attacking, creative brand of soccer like Messi, Ronaldhino, and Cristiano Ronaldo. The guiding principles of the program are Respect, Appreciation, and Passion, combined with a fun, actioned packed training environment. Half-day, full-day, and extended-day options are available. Keeeperstop Goalkeeper Clinics August 5 - August 8. Advanced, Intermediate, and Beginner level clinics will be offered. The clinics will run from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. each day. Husky Volleyball Boot Camps August 12-15 and August 19-21. These day camps are geared towards individual skill and conditioning in preparation for the fall season tryouts. The price for this camp is $200 for the first session and $170 for the second session. The camps run from 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. daily. Registration information coming soon.
SoccerPlus Camp August 18-23. Founded and Directed by Tony DiCicco, the only American coach to have won an Olympic Gold Medal and two FIFA World Cup Championships. SoccerPlus Goalkeeper School, FieldPlayer/Striker Academy and Team Training Programs are known for excellence and developing collegiate, pro and international players.
