The girls varsity basketball team is on an eight-game win streak, sitting at 15-3 for the season.

Senior captain Stephanie Jones scored 21 points to lead the girls varsity basketball team to a 65-50 victory over Northfield Mount Hermon on Saturday.

Due to inclement weather conditions the Loomis Chaffee Athletics Department has rescheduled today's varsity girls basketball game against Taft to Monday, February 16 at 5 p.m. in Olcott. The girls ice hockey game against Pomfret scheduled for today as a make-up game will be rescheduled to a later date. Please keep an eye on the website for more information. The girls JV squash match against Renbrook has been cancelled.

The Pelicans had another commanding win this week, this time against Choate Rosemary Hall. The 70-33 victory on Wednesday followed the team's 81-30 win over the Wyverns of Kingswood Oxford on Saturday.

The Pelicans claimed a decisive Founders League win at Kent on Saturday when the girls basketball team outplayed the Lions 66-22. Junior captain Samantha Roy led the team with 20 points. Following her were junior Vanessa Young with 17 points, senior captain Chynna Bailey with 11 points, junior Nancy Culverson with 10 points, junior Isabel Hanson with 9 points, and sophomore Emma Trenchard with 2 points.

The girls basketball team used a disappointing one-point loss to Pomfret on Friday evening to turn it all around on Saturday when the Pelicans played Andover at home to a commanding 55-31 win.

Loomis senior Stephanie Jones signed her NCAA Divsion I Letter of Intent last week for Boston College where Steph will play basketball for the Eagles.

The girls varsity basketball team notched back-to-back wins on Thursday and Saturday to claim the Founders League championship and set a school record for most girls basketball wins in a season.

Junior Steph Jones scored her 2,000th career game point on Wednesday in Olcott Gymnasium as the girls varsity basketball team rolled past Suffield Academy 63-35.
