The 2012-2013 girls squash team is well-balanced in many aspects: grade level, experience, game aptitude, and sportsmanship. The varsity squash program includes an array of talented players, including five seniors, one junior, one sophomore and one freshman. Team veterans include captains Katie Kent and Annie Ferreira along with fellow seniors Sophie Kokaska, Caroline Landy and Rowan Rice. Junior Alexandra Moreno, sophomores Gaby Foti and team manager Dania Haughton and freshman Esmeralda Mejia make up the rest of the squad. The varsity team is followed by a wealth of talent under development on the junior varsity team headed up by Coach Kathryn Mullin '06. Both teams look to build on a solid base of experience to improve their games physically and mentally. At Loomis Chaffee, the girls’ squash program focuses on the following aspects:
-Mastering fundamental squash technique and strategy while working towards a high level of fitness and conditioning.
-Instilling a strong work ethic and guiding student-athletes to exhibit confidence, respect and good sportsmanship on and off the court.
-Creating an inclusive and supportive team environment that promotes healthy competition, open communication and fun.
