Alumni Athlete News
Dartmouth sophomore Sarah Byrne '11 this weekend became the second player in Big Green women's lacrosse history to have consecutive games with at least four goals in the NCAA Women's Lacrosse Tournament. The only other Dartmouth player to accomplish this feat was another LC alumna, Katieanne Christian '01.
Middlebury College freshman girls lacrosse goalie Katie Mandigo '12 helped lead the No. 3 Panthers past No.14 RPI in a NCAA Division III lacrosse regional final.
Five talented alumnae are playing in the Division I and Division III national championship lacrosse tournaments, including two whose teams faced off against each other on Friday.

Event Recap: 10/22 vs. Suffield (+ Pomfret recap) After a long dry spell, I’m happy to report that Boys’ 3rds notched a win against Suffield, 2-1, on Saturday afternoon.
Two weeks ago Wednesday was our last competition, against Pomfret, and the first game we’d tackled with a (nearly) complete roster since before Deerfield. On that day, the drive up to Pomfret was full of fall and we were looking forward to a strong showing. Our eagerness wasn’t even diminished by Pomfret’s thick, tilt-a-whirl field, which sloped precipitously to one side and needed a good grazing. Unfortunately, we played like T.S. Eliot’s “Hollow Men,” lifelessly, and the game ended like the poem—“not with a bang but a whimper,” 1-3. The one bright spot was Ben Suski’s goal, a one-touch blast off a brilliantly delivered cross from Tucker Santoro. The following Saturday offered no chance for redemption, since NMH forgot to show up, and last Wednesday’s game against Choate was rained out. So Suffield, this Saturday, turned out to be an important opportunity to get the team back on track for the season. Although we started out a little slow, a new front line of Tucker Santoro, Miguel Esteban and Caleb Rudnicki put early pressure on a shaky Suffield defense. Soon enough, James Chung’s hair-flappingly fast dribbling and slick far-corner grounder put us up 1-0. Yet early in the second half we were tied again at 1-1. It was only in the last ten minutes of the game that the team settled down and managed to put together some beautiful passing. Our go-ahead goal came off a play initiated by James Chung at midfield. After tallying two or three or four broken ankles, James laid the ball off to Christian Petty, who sent a long, low ball to the corner flag. Thanh Le, this week’s Pelican, picked up the ball deep in Suffield territory and drove to the endline, finally redirecting a beautiful chip to C.G. Wei, who was streaking into the six-yard box from the left wing. C.G.’s one-touch finish put the nail in Suffield’s bright orange coffin, and we all left the match feeling slightly better about where we are in the season, and what our prospects are as we head into a tough week with matches against Avon and Hotchkiss. Thanks to those parents who’ve been coming to our games, and we hope to see many of you on Parents’ Weekend!
