Ahmad Cantrell '07

Ahmad Cantrell is an assistant director of admissions and associate dean of diversity, equity & inclusion. A member of the Class of 2007, Ahmad attended Fairfield University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Business Communication. Ahmad also received a graduate degree in Professional Counseling. He returned to Loomis after years of teaching and working in the insurance industry. Looking to have a positive and meaningful impact on the lives of everyone in our community, Ahmad made his way back to Loomis for an extremely rewarding career in education. In addition to his work in Admissions and the Office of Diversity, Equity & inclusion, he is boys & girls assistant varsity track & field coach and dorm resident. 

Ahmad dedicates himself to the continuous work of sustaining an inclusive community through educational programs geared towards helping students develop full circle.  As the faculty leader for multiple affinity groups and student leadership organizations on campus, Ahmad creates safe spaces for students to explore their personal and social development. He believes diversity is vital to educational excellence, interpersonal success, and an important part of each and every student’s personal journey beyond the island.
