Students Perform at Connecticut Music Festival

Twenty Loomis Chaffee student musicians performed in the Connecticut Northern Region Music Festival on January 18–19.

Selected by audition, the students rehearsed challenging music selections for two days under the leadership of nationally-known conductors then performed the selections for a large and appreciative audience. Musicians who take part in the regional festival are eligible to audition for Connecticut All-State Ensembles.

The Loomis Chaffee musicians included:

Chorus: seniors Makayla McPherson and Madison Redmond; juniors Brett Donshik, Eva Millay Evans, Emma Kane, Kavya Kolli, Andrew Wu, and Tom Zhang; and sophomore Mariapaula Gonzalez

Orchestra: senior Roy Lam (cello); juniors Hannah Adler (violin), Heisen Kong (violin), and Colette Wicks (cello); and sophomore Edward Zhao (cello)

Band: juniors Clara Chen (clarinet), Jake Lotreck (trumpet), and Eric Zhang (clarinet); sophomores Isabella Jiang (clarinet) and Cooper Donovan (French horn); and freshman Benson Wang (tuba)
