One of Loomis Chaffee’s most notable alumni, former U.S. Secretary of State George P. Shultz ’38, turned100 on December 13.
Before students departed campus for the Thanksgiving holiday, a group of Shultz Fellows, members of a student club inspired by the former secretary of state, gathered to mark his centennial year and write messages on a greeting card for the fellow Pelican.
The Shultz Fellows hold diverse political perspectives and host regular, open, non-partisan community conversations that encourage thoughtful civil discourse. The Shultz Fellows’ activities provide opportunities for students to put into practice the skills for respectful dialogue taught and promoted by the Norton Family Center for the Common Good.
