The Loomis Chaffee Modern and Classical Languages Department has named its year-end departmental awards for Katherine Ballard, a former faculty member who taught French, served as head of the department, and was dean of faculty during her 27-year tenure at Loomis Chaffee. A member of the Loomis Chaffee Board of Trustees, Katherine also is a parent of three Loomis alumni.
This year, 148 students were awarded certificates in recognition of their accomplishments in their Arabic, Chinese, French, Latin, and Spanish language classes. In a video greeting sent on Monday, May 18, Katherine congratulated the department’s award recipients.
