Six Loomis Chaffee student writers received awards for their original works of poetry and prose in the 2020 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards for the Connecticut region.
“I am always impressed that our students are creating such high quality work in so many different genres in addition to all of the writing that they do for their academic classes,” remarked Kate Saxton, director of Writing Initiatives at Loomis.
All regional gold key award winners’ entries will be submitted for consideration in the National 2020 Scholastic Art & Writing Gold Medal and Special Achievement Awards, which will be presented in June. The Scholastic Awards are administered by the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers.
