The NMH Hoggers boys and girls swim teams squared off against the Pelicans in Hedges Pool on Wednesday afternoon, spurring some 22 career-best performances from the boys team, who won the meet 86-74. A new Loomis record was set in the girls meet as they defeated their opponents 99-73.
Pelican gold medalists for the boys meet included all three relay teams: junior Kai Junn Tham, sophomore Min Jun Jung, freshman Kai Sheng Tham, senior captain Jordan Chen, sophomore Lawrence Lee, junior CJ Owen, and senior captain Otto Laakso.

In the girls meet, the Pelicans captured first place in eight different events. Senior Kimberly Ma, senior Suzy Ryckman, sophomore Sadie Gardner, senior Ashleigh Scott, and freshman Sophie Rodner, along with two first place finish from relay teams, secured the win for the Pelicans.
It was an especially exciting day for senior Ashleigh Scott, who in the 100-meter fly broke a 30-year-old school record set by Allison Hulme '88.

Both teams take to the road next week, where they will travel to Suffield Academy for a 3 p.m. dual meet, on Wednesday, February 7.
