Senior Reilly Campbell scored her 1,000th point on Monday, January 14, in the girls varsity basketball team's 78-29 win against Kingswood Oxford.
The victory was the team's second straight win as the Pelicans defeated Berkshire Academy 67-44 on Friday, January 11.
Campbell was only three points away from the big milestone at the start of the Kingswood Oxford game, and she scored an early layup to bring her to 999 career points. Just a few minutes after her first basket, Campbell pushed down the court and received a pass under the rim. She went up for the layup, and despite being fouled, managed to finish the play and score.
After a quick celebration of the achievement, the game resumed, and by half time Loomis led 39-16. In the second half, Loomis continued to hit their shots and play solid defense, ending the game with the 78-29 victory.
