The girls varsity ice hockey team rang in the new year with an impressive 4-0 win at home on Wednesday, January 3, against Buckingham Browne & Nichols School.
Despite having practiced only once together since the winter break, the girls came out flying and had no trouble finding the back of the net. Sophomore Anna Hurd and junior Jessica Shryver each tallied a goal, and sophomore Jenna Stevens scored two goals.
On the defensive end, the team played well and kept BB&N from creating many threatening goal-scoring opportunities. Those that were dangerous were handled by the goaltending trio of freshmen Grace Caligiuri and Elinor Keehn and senior Taylor Stadeli.
The team looks forward to its next contest, at Berkshire Academy at 4 p.m. on Saturday, January 6.
