Girls Lacrosse Tops Choate

The girls varsity lacrosse team earned a disciplined win over Choate on the road on Wednesday, April 11, improving to 2-1 on the season.

The combination of senior Lia LaPrise, sophomore Jenna Donahue, and junior Abby Kuhns dominated the midfield for the Pelicans, as Donahue routinely won draw controls and distributed the ball to LaPrise and Kuhns, who pushed offensive transition.

The game saw a balanced attacking effort with senior captain Mairin Moylan and senior Sophie Weaver behind the cage while junior Maddie Corsetti and freshman Katie Daileader caused multiple turnovers on the offensive end.

The defensive unit of senior goalkeeper Erin Levine, senior captain Suzy Ryckman, juniors Charlotte Fanning and Jacqueline Cleary, and freshman Grace Murphy caused turnovers and grabbed key ground balls in the defensive end throughout the game, allowing to Pelicans to control possession in a tight contest.

The Pelicans will return to league play at Taft on Wednesday, April 18, followed by and a home game against Hotchkiss next Saturday, April 21.
