The girls varsity volleyball team captured its first Founders League title since 2015 with a three-set sweep of Kingswood Oxford on Wednesday, October 31, in Olcott Gymnasium.
On their home court, the Pelicans were strong on the service line, serving a season-high 93 percent. The Pelicans were also efficient at the net, hitting .217 as a team, with senior Maya Guyton leading the way with 15 kills.
On the defensive end, Loomis controlled the ball thanks in large part to the efforts of sophomore Loren Jones. She played a nearly perfect game on her birthday, serving 92 percent from the line while committing only one passing error.
"It was especially fun to see every Loomis player tally a positive stat, and to do it during the game in which the team captured the Founders League title showed the depth of our program," said head coach Jeffrey Dyreson after the game.
Up next, the Pelicans travel to Suffield Academy for a 4:30 p.m. game on Friday, November 2.
