Loomis' HAX Robotics team completed its excellent season last weekend by winning a competition in Essex, Vermont.
In the first round, Team HAX placed 10th out of 32 teams with a 3-2 record, and the first-place team selected Team HAX for an alliance in the next round. This alliance handily beat the fourth-place alliance to move on to the finals, where Team HAX and its alliance partner won the championship 2-1, beating the second-place alliance in a nail-biter.
Six students, including seniors Anil Anderson, Max Mossberg, Mahek Pannu, and Rosie Park; and juniors Rishi Basu and Shlok Sharma, represented the Loomis team in Vermont.
"Kudos to the entire team for a job well done!" said Ewen Ross, science teacher and HAX Robotics faculty advisor. Ewen noted that the team had an outstanding season with one qualifier win and two state championship wins.
