The Loomis Chaffee Concert Choir and Chamber Singers presented their Winter Choral Concert on Sunday, January 13, in the Hubbard Performance Hall. at 4 p.m.
Under the direction of Susan Chrzanowski, the Thomas Benedict Carter Instructor of Music and head of the Music Department, the two choral groups presented a varied program of music featuring a variety of genres.
"Salmo 150," a Brazilian setting of Psalm 150 by Ernai Aguiar
"Farewell Dear Love," a madrigal setting by Robert Jones
"Rasa Sayang," a choral setting of the Malay folksong by TOH Ben Sheng
"Ay Cosita Linda," a choral setting of the famous Colombian band tune by Francisco Galán
"Banks of Doon," a setting of Robert Burns's poem by Donna Gartman Schultz
"De Amor Heridos," a traditional Mexican Song set by Ramón Noble
"Kusimama" (Stand Tall), an exciting choral setting of Swahili and English text by Jim Papoulis
"Dodi Li," an Israeli folksong by Nira Chen, arranged by Joshua Jacobson
"Kawouno Wan Gi Pi" (water song), from Kenya in the Dholuo language by Vivian Aluoch and Vivian Anyango
"Kyrie," from Franz Schubert's Mass in G
"Ain't No Mountain High Enough," an iconic Motown standard.
