Pelicans Cap Great Season at Boston Model U.N. Conference

Loomis Chaffee Model United Nation students capped off a great season with seven individual awards at the Boston Invitational Model U.N. Conference last weekend, February 7–9. Congratulations to the team and to their advisor, Rachel Engelke. The awards included:

Senior Lucy Shao: Best DelegateEU 2015 - France

Senior Liam Scott: Best Delegate Kenyan Elections 2007 (Musalia Mudavadi)

Junior Maral Asik: Best Delegate Avatar (Uncle Iroh)

Junior Margarita Demkina: Best Delegate NATO (France)

Senior Minna Gao: Best Position Paper JCC-Spanish Civil War: Republicans (Manuel Azana Diaz)

Sophomore Victoria Che: Honorable Delegate Tea and Poppy: China, 1839 (Ge Yunfei)

Sophomore Aidan Gillies: Verbal Commendation ICC (Judge, Prosecutor)

History teacher Harrison Shure accompanied the team to Boston, and several alumni came to visit with the Pelicans while they were in the city, including Loomis Model U.N. alumni Gaurang Goel '17, Kevin Jung '17, and Cathy Hyeon '18 — all current students at Harvard University.
