More than a dozen Pelican volunteers joined the 36th annual Foodshare Walk Against Hunger last Saturday morning in Hartford. As part of the event, the Loomis Chaffee and Miss Porter's school communities teamed up to raise $630 to combat hunger. The funds were distributed to the Hartford-area food bank Foodshare and the newly-opened Red Door of Grace Food Pantry in Windsor. Additional food items were collected in advance of the walk in Katharine Brush Library and were donated to help stock Red Door of Grace's shelves. Junior Grace Wolf spearheaded Loomis' participation.
