Loomis Chaffee will limit all nonessential visits to and business on campus through June 30, 2021, to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. The school will reevaluate its visitor policy as conditions related to the spread, containment, and treatment of COVID-19 evolve. No visitors are allowed on campus without prior approval from a Loomis faculty or staff member. Faculty and staff are asked to notify Campus Safety in advance of any visits.
All persons approved to visit campus are required to register at the Visitor Center at the time of your arrival. The Visitor Center is located on Batchelder Road just south of the Island Road intersection, near the baseball field and across from the Gwendolen Health Center.
All vehicles arriving on campus via either Batchelder or Island roads will be directed to the Visitor Center. Visitors who meet all visiting requirements will be given a Visitor Pass, which they must wear while on campus. All visitors are required to wear masks while on campus and practice social distancing ― both inside and outside campus buildings.
Please note: The Admission Office will not offer campus tours and in-person campus interviews and visits for the foreseeable future. Please refer to the Admission webpages for information about virtual visits and the many online events we will offer prospective students and their families this fall.
Town of Windsor residents who walk, run, or cycle the public loop road around campus do not need to check in at the Visitor Center but are required to wear masks and practice social distancing measures as mandated by the state. Anyone who is currently diagnosed with COVID-19, awaiting a COVID-19 test result, actively quarantining, or experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 should not come to campus.
Current faculty, staff, and students are not considered visitors even if they leave campus and return, so they are not required to follow visitor protocols.
Suppliers/contractors involved with the Nichols Center construction project will follow check-in procedures established by Newfield Construction.
