Post-Graduate Applicants

Loomis Chaffee has had a deep commitment to its post-graduate program for almost fifty years, and the school greatly values the contributions each of our post-graduates makes to our community. Each year, Loomis Chaffee enrolls 20-25 post-graduate students. Our post-graduate program is designed for students who feel they would benefit from an additional year of challenging course work, intentional instruction to improve in key academic areas, as well as to be more thoughtful about their college options. While most of our post-graduates will pursue athletics at a very high level after Loomis, our program really is for those who value the opportunities that come with a year of maturation, rigorous curricular options, and a chance to explore passions that may have been unavailable before.

Post-graduates are integrated into the life of the school in every way imaginable. From residential life, classes, student leadership, athletics, arts, and music, you will participate fully in the life of the school. You will work closely with our post-graduate coordinator to plan how best to take advantage of the PG program and will have a designated advisor who will serve in a mentoring role. You also will have an appointed college counselor who will support you in the college admission process.
