Why did you choose Loomis?
I chose Loomis because it excels in all academics, athletics, and arts. There is little to no separation between students with different interests and goals which creates a very welcoming and inclusive environment.

Favorite subjects:
Math and Science

Activities on campus:
Soccer, Lacrosse, Peer Counseling

A fun fact about me:
I competitively freestyle ski off-campus during the winter.

What is your favorite question you get asked on tour?

“Are day students integrated into boarding life on campus?”

Yes! Day students have the choice to go home after their last commitment but are encouraged to stay on campus for weekend activities, sports games, or to just hang out with their friends in their dorms, or at social events! I personally have only boarding friends and don't see any division at all. I have the choice to sleep in their rooms, or for them to come to my house on the weekends as well. All student activities are planned for both day students and boarders as well as club events and socials so it is at your own leisure to be as included as you choose!

What do you want to make sure prospective students and families know about Loomis?
Loomis emphasizes group collaboration and discussion-based lessons. All of our classes (with the exception of one) are based around asking questions and working together to problem-solve, which gives the students the ability to bounce ideas off their peers and also gain their perspectives as well, rather than just the teachers.
