Tuition & Financial Aid
Affording Loomis Chaffee
At Loomis Chaffee we are committed to enrolling the most outstanding applicants and creating the best possible educational opportunities for them, regardless of their ability to pay.
Operating as a tuition-free school until the 1960s, Loomis has remained accessible for students from a wide range of socioeconomic backgrounds due to our unwavering commitment to financial aid.
For the 2024–25 year, Loomis awarded $12 million in financial aid to 32 percent of our student body. Financial aid is intended to make the cost of attending Loomis affordable. To that end, aid grants range from $1,000 up to the full cost of tuition, with the average grant covering 80 percent of tuition. If a family feels they are unable to meet our costs, they should apply for financial assistance.
The school also hosts a financial aid lending library for textbooks and other supplies, which helps to reduce the cost of book purchases for all students on financial aid.
