Class of 2023
McLean, Virginia, USA
Why did you choose Loomis?
I chose Loomis due to it being a school that excels in many things at once! I knew I'd be able to flourish and take full advantage of the world-class resources that Loomis offers, regardless of where my interests lead me during my four years on the Island.
History, English and Latin, you can tell I'm a humanities guy. Music is really cool too.
Activities on campus:
Debate, Model UN, Residential Assistant in Taylor Hall, Jazz Improv Band, Cross Country, Track, and the Log.
A fun fact about me:
I love messing around on the piano and the guitar! The practice rooms are definitely my favorite place to hang out during my frees. I also "play" violin (though I'm not sure I can still say that after having not touched a violin in 3 years).
What do you want to make sure prospective students and families know about Loomis?
Loomis is more than just the numbers or programs listed on the website; it's a vibrant community of so many amazing students, faculty, and staff, and the whole place has an amazing communal vibe to it. You can always say hi to people on your way to class or join in an impromptu game of Spikeball on the Quad, no matter if you know them or not!
What is your favorite question you get asked on tour?
"Why Loomis is called the Island?"
The answer is that it floods in the spring and for those days our campus really can become an island!
