2022 Fall Playoff Preview

With the fall regular season coming to a close for sports, Loomis Chaffee has four teams taking part in New England Prep School Athletic Conference (NEPSAC) post-season play.

The varsity field hockey team earned an eighth seed in the NEPSAC Class A field hockey tournament and will head to No. 1 Taft School for a quarterfinal matchup against the Rhinos. The team earned its berth after a 10-6-2 season, which included an overtime win in their final regular-season game of the year to qualify for the tournament. Earlier in the season Loomis and Taft faced off in an epic battle that ended in a 0-0 draw.

The game will take place Wednesday, November 16, at 2:15 p.m. at Taft. The game will be livestreamed for those that can’t attend.

The varsity volleyball team earned a fifth seed in the NEPSAC Class A tournament after winning the Founders League for the fourth straight year and posting a 13-3 record. The team will take on fourth-seeded Andover on Wednesday, November 16, at 4 p.m. at Andover. When the two teams faced off at the beginning of the season, the Pelicans came out on top 3-2. Last year the volleyball team reached the Class A championship game.

You can watch the game live on the Loomis Chaffee athletics livestreaming page.

The fourth seeded girls varsity soccer team also heads to the NEPSAC Class A tournament, and will host fifth-seeded Worcester Academy after an impressive 12-2-2 regular season. Loomis and Worcester have not faced off this year.

The game will take place on Wednesday, November 16, at 2 p.m. on Barton Field in the Meadows. For those who cannot attend, there will be a livestream.

The varsity football team also will take part in post-season play, heading to Williston Northampton to take on the Wildcats in the Mark Conroy Bowl. Both teams have 7-1 records. The game will take place on Saturday, November 19, at 2:30 p.m.

Williston will provide a livestream for those who cannot travel to the game.
