Boys Cross Country Claims Bronze at DI Championship

The boys varsity cross country team took home third place from the New England Prep School Track Association Division I Cross Country Championships on Saturday, November 12, to close out another impressive season.

Knowing that it would be difficult to follow up their performance at the Founders League Championship, especially because one of their top runners was out with illness, the Pelicans ran extremely well on an unseasonably warm day and battled for every inch along the 5k course.

Senior Ethan Wood finished his career at Loomis with one of his best races of the year, finishing sixth, while freshman Alex Fisher continued to impress with a ninth-place finish. Senior Sam Kurian also capped off his cross country career like he always does, sprinting through the finish line while passing surprised opponents, to capture 12th place. All three athletes earned All-NEPSTA recognition for their performances.

Sophomores Erik Lamphere and Lucas Hanley finished fourth and fifth for the Pelicans at 38th and 41st place, and freshman Miles Gackstetter and senior Sandro Mocciolo rounded out the top seven Pelican athletes.
