Boys varsity hockey kicked off its season with a 2-1 victory over a strong Brunswick team on Wednesday, December 3, in front of a packed and loud Savage/Johnson Rink.

Senior Carson Woolcott opened the scoring in the first period for the Pelicans, finishing on a breakaway that was part of a beautiful sequence assisted by juniors Logan Ferrara and Max Hu. Ferrara extended the lead to 2-0 on a breakaway goal assisted by Woolcott and senior Jack Daly. Brunswick quickly answered with one minute remaining in the first period to cut the lead to one.

The second and third periods were scoreless for both sides. Junior Markus Weber was phenomenal in net and stopped 34 of 35 shots to lead the Pelicans to victory.
