Boys Track & Field Wins Founders League Title

The boys track and field team won its fifth straight Founders League championship on Saturday, May 14, putting together an impressive performance that displayed the team’s ability and depth.

“We haven’t had an event like this since 2019,” said assistant coach Andrew Bartlett “so we as a coaching staff were really proud of the way our boys competed and how calm they were despite this being a totally new experience for many of them.”

The team’s depth made a big difference in the championship. Fourteen athletes recorded points for the Pelicans, which also earned them All-Founders League honors.

Scorers included sophomore Sebastian Cohen, senior Henry Deng, senior Michael Zhou, senior Corey Plummer, junior Shunsuke Matsubayashi, senior Nick Turcotte, sophomore Evan Gackstetter, junior Sam Kurian, sophomore Anthony Ndika, junior Jaden Small, junior Agam Grover, sophomore Orion Browne, senior Liam Hochman, and senior Matt Aljian. The complete results can be found online.

Up next, the Pelicans host the Founders League JV meet on Wednesday, May 18, before they hit the road to compete in the Division I New England Prep School Track Association Championships on Saturday, May 21, at St. Paul’s School.
