Boys Varsity Squash Triumphs Over Salisbury

In an up-and-down match at Salisbury School, the Loomis Chaffee boys varsity squash team prevailed 5-2 victory over the Knights on Wednesday, February 8.

Seniors Ignacio Feged and Nicholas Sticka continued their mature performances, each dispatching their opponents 3-0. In addition, senior Brandon Kim handled his opponent well, navigating tricky sections of the match to defeat his opponent 3-0.

Particularly notable was junior Rayyan Haider's performance, where he played back-to-back matches against Salisbury's 7 and 8 seeds since the Pelicans were short a player. Rayyan handled both matches well, winning each 3-0, and throughout he displayed the patience and intelligence the team has worked on for the past several weeks.

The Pelicans return home next Wednesday for their final match of the regular season against Westminster School on Saturday, February 15, at 2:30 p.m. in the Kohn Squash Pavilion in a rematch of a tight early-season loss. The seniors look to both avenge the early defeat and play well in their final match on the home courts.
