Girls Water Polo Victorious Over Exeter
The Loomis Chaffee girls water polo team headed to New Hampshire on Saturday, April 7, to take on a great team at Phillips Exeter. Despite the added challenge of the long pre-game trip, the Pelicans got a 12-9 win over Exeter.
“Although it is early in the season and the group is still learning how to play together, we are already seeing a ton of progress” said head coach Liz Bucceri. “Against Exeter we had better ball movement, and we also had a lot more confidence in both our offense and defense.”
Senior captain Jackie Ryckman shined as the leading goal-scorer of the match. Defensively, junior Meredith Doherty shut down Exeter attackers from all spots in the pool, and goalkeeper senior Zoe Legro let no easy goals through.
The Pelicans will take on Deerfield Academy on the road on Wednesday, April 10.
