Peverly’s Bat Leads Pelicans to 17–2 Defeat of Kent

Senior Violet Peverly had a standout performance on Saturday, May 3, hitting two home runs and driving in eight runs to lead Loomis Chaffee to a dominant 17–2 win over the Kent School Lions.

The Pelicans wasted no time, scoring seven runs in the top of the first inning. Sophomore Solen Trainor and Peverly each contributed RBI singles while sophomore Brooke Murphy tripled in two more. A series of Kent errors added three additional runs.

Peverly launched her first home run in the second inning, a two-run shot to center field, extending the Loomis lead to 9–0.

In the third, RBI singles from Trainor and Peverly helped push across four more runs. Peverly capped her day with a three-run homer in the fourth — her second of the game.

Peverly also earned the win in the circle, allowing just three hits and two unearned runs across four innings. She struck out eight and walked two.

Loomis totaled 12 hits, with sophomore Hazel Lamb and Trainor each collecting multiple hits.
