Post Season Preview - Fall 2024

Four Loomis Chaffee teams claimed Founders League championships this fall: girls and boys cross country, volleyball, and field hockey. On Saturday, November 9, the cross country teams competed in the New England Championships, where varsity boys placed third and varsity girls took second.

Fall 2024 postseason tournaments kicks off Wednesday, November 13, with several Loomis Chaffee teams heading into quarterfinal matchups:

Volleyball, with a regular-season record of 15-1, enters as the No. 3 seed and will host sixth-seeded Deerfield at 3:30 p.m. in the Olcott Center. When the two teams faced off earlier in the season, the Pelicans came out on top 3-1. Last year, Loomis won the New England Prep School Athletic Conference (NEPSAC) Class A Championship, its second in five years.

The game will be livestreamed for those that can’t attend.

Boys soccer finished 14-3-1, securing the No. 4 seed in the tournament, and will face fifth-seeded Worcester Academy at 2:15 p.m. on Pratt Field. In early October, the Pelicans defeated the Rams 6-0.

You can watch the game live on the Loomis Chaffee athletics livestreaming page.

Girls soccer, boasting a 12-2-2 record, is seeded No. 5 in the tournament and will travel to face fourth-seeded Buckingham Browne & Nichols (BB&N) at 2 p.m. This will be the Pelicans’ first matchup with BB&N this season.

Those who cannot attend can watch a livestream broadcast.

Field hockey, with a season record of 12-4-1, is the No. 7 seed and will travel to take on second-seeded Hotchkiss at 2 p.m. Just last week, the Loomis team prevailed over Hotchkiss 2-1.

Hotchkiss will provide a livestream for those who cannot travel to the game.
