Teams Dominate with 9 Wins in 11 Games
It was an exciting day of competition for Loomis Chaffee on Wednesday, October 2, as Pelican athletes delivered strong performances across a variety of sports. Out of 11 contests, Loomis emerged victorious in nine, showcasing the depth and talent of the teams.
The boys JV football team set the tone for the day with a commanding 26-0 victory over Williston Northampton while the boys JV and varsity soccer teams both secured shutout wins, 4-0 and 6-0 respectively, against Worcester Academy.
Girls varsity field hockey followed suit, blanking Ethel Walker 4-0, while the girls JV and varsity soccer teams overpowered Kingswood Oxford with 11-1 and 4-0 wins, respectively. The girls volleyball teams swept their competition, with the III, JV, and varsity squads all defeating Ethel Walker 3-0.
Though the boys JV water polo team lost 11-12 in a hard-fought battle against Williston, and the boys varsity water polo team fell 7-13, the Pelicans had a successful day overall, building confidence and momentum for their next set of contests.
