Volleyball Sweeps Greenwich

The Loomis Chaffee varsity volleyball team earned a decisive win over Greenwich Academy in a New England Prep School Athletic Conference (NEPSAC) matchup on Wednesday, October 22.

The Pelicans came out strong in the opening set, establishing early rhythm in their serve and serve receive. Junior Gillian Tang sparked a 9–3 start with four aces during a five-point run, and junior Mary Grace King followed with five aces of her own in a six-point stretch to extend the lead to 20–4. Loomis closed out the set 25–13.

Greenwich responded in the second set with focus and aggressive play. Loomis built a 9–5 lead before a series of unforced errors allowed the Gators to tie the score at 10. The teams traded points through the middle of the set, with neither side able to gain much separation. With the score at 19–18, Loomis recorded two key blocks and a kill to take control at 22–18 and held on for a 25–21 win.

In the third set, junior captain Audrey Flynn set the tone early with an 8–0 serving run. The Pelicans maintained momentum the rest of the way, playing clean, efficient volleyball to secure a 25–8 victory and complete the sweep.
