A hat trick by Madie Leidt ’17 and a shutout effort from goalkeeper Elinor Keehn ’21 helped to carry Middlebury College’s women’s ice hockey team to an 8-0 win over UMASS Boston on Monday, January 3, in a game that also heralded a milestone in Leidt’s college hockey career.
Leidt’s final goal of the game was her 100th point at Middlebury, and she did it in only 90 games. The senior forward has now racked up 54 goals and 46 assists as a Panther.
The hat trick was Leidt’s second of the year, and she leads the Panthers in total points and goals, with nine goals and four assist through eight games. Keehn, a freshman goalkeeper, had 16 saves in Monday’s shutout win.
